Well, after a loooong hiatus... I have returned. I know, duck and cover.
Actually I've been back for about a week, I'm just too lazy to update anything.
Well, I'm currently working on cleaning out my gallery, to fill it up with stuff realted to my soon-to-be comic. Bet you didn't know that, did you?
Yeah, I'm going to draw a comic.
Since I'm too lazy to re-summarize everything...
I'll just copy+paste my DeviantArt journal.
BTW, feel free to suggest stuff for me on Sheezy too! I need to give him a naaaaameeeeee.....

Well, The extremely helpful BrutalDeceiver was very kind to suggest the title "Immortal" for my comic.
I... feel pretty dumb.
That's a good name and I didn't think of it....

Also, I've decided on a few more characters' names and personalities, I'll give a mini sneak peak here:
Alexander- Immortal's "pet". He looks up to Immortal's strength, and follows him everywhere. Srsly.
AND
Gang-Min Hwa: He's Korean. Obviously. I can't think of any details to give that aren't major spoilery ruin the story type details... but he's Korean, he wears glasses, and he's uber rich.
ORIGINAL POST:
KAY. So you know that one comic book I've been blabbering on about for ever and ever? Well, I'm not gonna do it. I mean, I'm not gonna do it right now. I will do it later.
See, After a lot of thought, I decided that it's not a good idea to do that one at my current level of skill. The atmosphere and plot of the story, and the way I want it to look, requires a more realistic, serious style of art. My semi-realistic style is pretty inconsistent, and so I want to hone my skills before I start on such a big thing.
REGARDLESS, I still have to do a comic, because now I've committed to doing it for my year-long school project.
So, I'm gonna use story #2, because the feeling I want from it needs a simpler style. And, fortunately, I can draw the same character the same way each time with this type of art, so that's what I'll do. I'm using story #2 before I get into Core, aka story #1 (Ohmigosh, Core? that's it's name? I hear you say. Yes, I know... I haven't told the majority of my friends anything about my comic...)
This story (#2) is one that I'm been pondering for a little while, and I wasn't so sure that I liked it, but as I've been sketching the characters on my homework (lol) more and more, I've grown attached.
SO
I need a title! AND a (nick)name for the main character. I need your suggestions of what to call them!
Please read these descriptions to help you decide:
STORY:
The story is set in a world with no countries and a government that is virtually non-existent. Everyone is always trying to kill each other in order to become the "strongest".
The world's full of people with supernatural powers. People who are super strong, can fly, read minds, manipulate natural phenomena, etc.
The main character is pretty sure that he's the one who can be the strongest, so the story's about him and his attempt to get that title.
MAIN CHARACTER:

I need a nickname for him, not a real name. He already has a real name, but for the plot I need a nickname for him. Please try to avoid anything Japanese, I prefer my original stories to not be full of Japanese names. It doesn't have to be a real name though, make something up.
His real name is Immortal. He named himself. He has no memories of a family, if he ever had one.
He's slightly insane, and very sadistic. He always wears a fur lined coat, no matter what the weather is like. He loves to kill things. You may notice that in most of the sketches he doesn't look crazy/sadistic at all. That's because he's veeeery good at acting sane. And nice.
He can manipulate and control shadows. He can turn them into any shape, but he does have a favorite that he uses pretty often(see picture)
He can make a shadow look just like him, and he loves to toy with his enemies by letting his shadow-self get nearly defeated (thus getting the opponent's spirits up) before he completely crushes his enemies. Like I said, he loves to cause pain.
He is 15 years old, average height, blond hair, brown eyes, and he loves grapefruit. He HATES mice, he's not afraid, but hates in the way that he will chase one down in order to crush it with a hammer. Yeah, he scares me too.
NOTE: for the nickname, PLEASE DON'T base it off Immortal. I already tried "Tal" and... "Mort" or whatever and I didn't like it.
And one more little tidbit:
This is a quote from the story. It occurs right after he lets his shadow-self be defeated and is about to completely destroy victim #1
"Hey, you wanna know something?
My name isn't ______.
That's just a nickname.
You know my real name?
It's Immortal"

I'm gonna talk about the pictures 9[link]) here because I don't feel like putting this in the artist's comments.
1. The picture on the top left corner sorta goes with the quote. heehee
2. He actually has both ears pierced, even though you can't tell in my sketches. He wears a long earring with a rectangularish piece on the left ear, and a little black stud on the right.
3. He can use even the shadows made when he covers one hand with the other to form his shadow monsters. He controls these kind of like a marionette, but only for show. He is capable of using only his mind to manipulate them.
4. Usually, he just lets his shadow monsters look like what they are, shadows. But he can give them physical feature to make them look like a real thing (For example, himself)
5. His shadows do have substance, otherwise they wouldn't be as effective when he's tricking someone into thinking they've beat him. If his enemies tried hitting him with something and it went right through him, they'd get a little suspicious, now wouldn't they? In other words, his shadows can actually fight. They aren't simply illusions to trick and stuff, though he does use them for that purpose too
Oh, and Immortal is in my icon now too. Teehee. If you still see the old one, CTRL+F5 will probably work.
I was trying to copy Bamelin's style just for fun and I liked it so I made an icon :giggle:
Okay, those people out there, I know you're worried about the state of my original comic idea.

But, fret not. It'll happen, but first I need some practice. I'm far too in love with my characters to just drop them like that.

Please help me name the comic and Immortal! Please please please please please!

I am in the process of drawing my own comic book. And when I say "in the process"... I mean it in the loosest sense. I reeeeeally need to get working on that.
SO
As is custom on profile pages, I shall give a brief glimpse of my interests, skills, hobbies, hair color, blood type, shoe size, tongue length, whatever other crap people write about. I dunno.
Anyways, I like japanse and korean comics. A lot. Ohoho. My favorites are, in no particular order: Gintama, Death Note, Witch Hunter, Ares, D. Gray-man, Rurouni Kenshin, Bleach, Hellsing, Katekyo Hitman Reborn... and many others. Many OTHERS... EXCEPT Naruto. Masashi Kishimoto can't write or draw worth crap. If I hear a single "OMG SAUCE-QUE IS TEH GREATEST THING EVAAAAAAAH" I think I will shoot someone. Hopefully the idiot who allowed Naruto to keep going this long

Just like how some people choose to enjoy Olive Garden for its Italian food, despite the fact that "Italian" in this case means that tomato sauce is on the menu.
